Job Summary

Perform preventive maintenance, repair, installation, testing, and calibration on medical and simulation equipment supporting the 711th Human Performance Wing Medical Readiness mission. Diagnose malfunctions using technical manuals and schematics, then repair or replace defective electronic and mechanical components. Maintain accurate records in the Defense Medical Logistics Standard Support system while ensuring compliance with OSHA, DoD, FDA, and accreditation standards. Train medical personnel on proper equipment operation and safely operate Government vehicles to service facilities. This role requires strong technical expertise in biomedical systems and electronics troubleshooting within a fast-paced healthcare environment. The position supports an opportunity at Wright Patterson AFB, OH, for a contractor providing services to the Department of Defense.

Required Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in Biomedical Equipment Technology, Biomedical Engineering Technology, Engineering, or a related technical discipline
  • Minimum two (2) years of Biomedical Equipment Technician experience
  • Demonstrated experience troubleshooting, repairing, calibrating, and maintaining complex biomedical equipment
  • Experience performing component-level electronic troubleshooting and system configuration management
  • Strong knowledge of electronic principles, integrated systems, and electromechanical equipment
  • Ability to interpret technical manuals, electrical schematics, blueprints, and engineering specifications
  • Experience troubleshooting hardware and software issues in complex medical systems
  • Knowledge of applicable healthcare regulatory standards including DoD, OSHA, FDA, NFPA, NEC, The Joint Commission, AAAHC, and CAP requirements
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Valid U.S. driver's license
  • Ability to lift up to 51 pounds frequently and heavier equipment with appropriate lifting techniques
  • Ability to pass a color vision test
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint) and Adobe Acrobat
  • Knowledge of applicable Air Force standards and procedures
  • Ability to obtain required security and facility access
  • Signed Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) prior to contract performance

Desired Qualifications

  • Military medical treatment facility experience
  • Military deployment experience
  • Experience using Defense Medical Logistics Standard Support (DMLSS)
  • Certified Biomedical Equipment Technician (CBET) or equivalent professional certification
  • Experience supporting biomedical equipment in Department of DoD healthcare environments
