Biomedical Engineering Technician - OLG

Job Summary
Conduct safety inspections, routine equipment testing, and preventive maintenance on designated biomedical equipment. Address technical or operational issues for clinical staff, including nurses and other technicians. Perform basic repairs on electrical, HVAC, nurse call, fire alarm, television, medical gas, and other systems. Maintain service records, logs, and documentation to ensure equipment meets safety and performance standards. Calibrate and test equipment according to department guidelines while identifying and reporting equipment issues or safety risks. Assist with departmental projects and perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree in electronics from an accredited college or university
- ETA International Associate Certified Electronics Technician (CETa)
- Current Driver's License
- Familiarity with and skills to repair electrical systems
- Familiarity with and skills to repair HVAC systems
- Familiarity with and skills to repair nurse call systems
- Familiarity with and skills to repair fire alarm systems
- Familiarity with and skills to repair television systems
- Familiarity with and skills to repair medical gas systems
- Familiarity with and skills to repair IS systems and equipment
- Familiarity with and skills to repair medical equipment
- Familiarity with and skills to repair other equipment/systems as needed
- Ability to and experience working with little or no supervision
- Ability to exercise good judgment in handling difficult situations
- Excellent human relations skills
- Knowledge of carpentry
- Knowledge of painting
- Knowledge of plumbing
- Good organizational skills
- Good time management skills
- Self directed
- Ability to travel throughout and between facilities
- Ability to work flexible schedule such as nights, evenings, weekends, holidays, extended shifts, on call rotation, etc.
- Must be able to lift and carry materials and or equipment weighing up to 50 pounds
- Must have good vision, correctable to 20/20, with no color blindness
- Must be able to crawl, climb, stoop, and bend without restrictions
- Must be able to work indoors, outdoors, above ceilings, and in confined spaces as duties dictate
- Must be able to operate hand and power tools necessary for mechanical, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and painting repairs
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
- Must have good vision, correctable to 20/20, with no color blindness
