Job Summary
Biomedical Engineering Intern role at Cleveland Clinic Medina Hospital. Responsibilities include performing targeted rounding in active patient areas to recover assets for processing and redistribution, cleaning, delivering, evaluating, and inspecting specified medical devices and equipment (e.g., infusion pumps, syringe pumps, feeding pumps, PCA pumps, DVT pumps, specialty beds, carts, procedural trays), documenting work activity in an electronic database, ordering supplies, stocking patient rooms, and deploying supplies to units and departments. Must be able to float to other Cleveland Clinic locations in the region; ideal candidates are current engineering students pursuing a biomedical engineering degree with the ability to work in a fast-paced, hospital environment and handle equipment logistics and basic inspection tasks. Familiarity with hospital operations, equipment handling, and basic computer/database use is helpful. The role emphasizes critical thinking, independent work with supervision, and adaptability to a hospital setting. The internship requires the physical ability to move and transport items and operate cleaning and inspection equipment, with travel within the health system as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Current student enrolled in a 2 – 4-year degree program in engineering
- Pursuing a Biomedical Engineering degree (preferred)
- Ability to perform work in stationary and mobile environments; ability to travel within health system
