Job Summary
Inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair a variety of medical equipment to ensure safe and reliable operation throughout the healthcare environment. Perform routine tasks associated with the installation, maintenance, calibration, and repair of biomedical equipment under the direct supervision of an experienced healthcare technology management professional. Demonstrate the ability to learn on the job, teach basic skills to new hires, and solve front-line customer service issues while maintaining assigned clinical equipment. This entry-level position requires a strong foundation in electronics and hands-on mechanical work, with training provided for the right candidate.
Required Qualifications
- Certified Associate in Biomedical Technology (CABT) within 1 year - Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation (AAMI)
- Associate's Degree: Related Field
- Biomedical electronics
- Exhibits a basic understanding and knowledge of the job and can communicate the use of devices supported
- Can provide basic support of acuity equipment for direct patient care
- Is familiar with the operations and environment that they support (hospital, clinic, etc.)
- Has a basic understanding of both local and national safety regulatory issues
- Able to solve basic front-line customer service issues
- Demonstrate the ability to maintain the medical equipment assigned
- Demonstrate the ability to learn from others on the job
- Can teach basic skills to new hires and interns
- Demonstrates a basic understanding of clinical equipment, radilogical, laboratory and network medical systems
