Job Summary
Perform preventive, predictive, and repair maintenance on assigned biomedical equipment with minimal supervision. Troubleshoot and independently repair medical equipment, specifically during on-call rotations. Oversee department-related projects and mentor BMET Level 1 technicians on basic skills. Maintain equipment inventory records and parts while demonstrating comprehensive knowledge of clinical terminology, radiological systems, and network medical environments. Provide direct support for acuity equipment used in patient care.
Required Qualifications
- Certified Associate in Biomedical Technology (CABT) within 1 year - Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation (AAMI)
- Certified Biomedical Equipment Technician (CBET) within 1 year - Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation (AAMI)
- Driver's License - Illinois Secretary of State (ILSOS)
- Associate's Degree: Related Field
- Biomedical experience
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Customer service skills
- Comprehensive understanding of common clinical terminology
- Knowledge of life sciences such as anatomy and physiology
- Ability to solve service line customer service problems
- Comprehensive understanding and communication of the use of devices supported
- Working knowledge of clinical equipment, radiological, and network medical systems
- Ability to oversee department related projects
- Ability to perform repairs and preventative maintenance on assigned equipment with minimal supervision
- Comprehensive support of acuity equipment for direct patient care
- Familiarity with the operations and environment utilized to support hospital, clinic, et.
- Comprehensive experience in their assigned clinical environment
- Capability of troubleshooting and repairing medical equipment independently specifically when on call
