Job Summary
Design and manage experiments with human subjects to quantify health metrics and performance improvements across clinical and naturalistic settings. Derive, analyze, and interpret complex technology-driven data streams related to human health, wellness, and biomechanical interactions using innovative data science approaches. Research scientific literature to synthesize technical issues regarding injury mechanisms and clinical trial outcomes. Write proposals to initiate new opportunities in the human technology sector and communicate findings through written reports and presentations tailored to technical and non-technical audiences. Participate in original research, publish papers in technical journals, and present findings at conferences. This role requires a Ph.D. in Biomechanics or related fields, with significant experience in computational programming and study design.
Required Qualifications
- Ph.D. in Biomechanics, Data Science, Bioengineering, Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Kinesiology, or a related field
- Knowledge and experience in one or more of the following areas: human physiological health metrics, human gait/movement, IMUs or other wearable/remote technologies, data science and AI/ML applications within the context of human subjects data, human anatomy and physiology, orthopedic biomechanics
- Demonstrated experience in study design and associated statistical analyses
- Demonstrated experience in data science modelling of human health data
- Experience in quantifying human health metrics and/or performance metrics in various settings
- Significant experience in computational programming (i.e., Python, MATLAB, R), with an emphasis on signal processing
- Project work may require travel between test sites to assist in data collections in unique environments
Desired Qualifications
- Prior experience and expertise in working with large-scale datasets is desirable
