Job Summary

Apply scientific and engineering principles to investigate incidents involving claimed injuries or fatalities, analyzing technical aspects of injuries, medical device failures, and forces involved in events like vehicle collisions or assaults. Evaluate how and why injuries occurred from an engineering standpoint to determine consistency between alleged injuries and the event. Write clear, scientifically sound reports and provide expert testimony. Collaborate with highly respected experts while working independently on case and client management. Approximately 20% of time is dedicated to training; the remainder focuses on reviewing case materials, analysis, and documentation preparation. This role offers a chance to use deep biomechanical knowledge in a challenging new domain at a national leader in expert witness consulting.

Required Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in an engineering discipline
  • B.S. in Engineering from an ABET-accredited University
  • Bioengineering/biomechanics experience involving human body kinematics and kinetics or injury research
  • Excellent technical skills
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Excellent writing skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Clean background screen
  • Driver's license
  • Ability to drive
  • Approx. 20% travel for training

Desired Qualifications

  • Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) experience
