Job Summary
Manage lab instruments, consumables, and chemicals; prepare reagents and solutions for proteomics and biochemistry workflows. Perform sample management, including sorting, storage, and manifest recording in Benchling. Execute biochemistry assays such as Western Blotting and conduct LC-MS support tasks like instrument source cleaning, monthly QC runs, and sample injection on Thermo Orbitrap and Sciex platforms. Process and analyze data to summarize and report findings while maintaining accurate records in the electronic laboratory notebook. This role supports a Neuroscience Biomarkers client team focused on identifying biomarkers for neurodegenerative diseases using CSF, plasma, and tissue studies. Full-time position with Monday-Friday hours, overtime as needed, located in Boston, MA.
Required Qualifications
- B.S. in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, Immunology, Neuroscience, or related field
- at least 2 years of LCMS experience in the pharmaceutical industry including setup, cleaning, and monthly QC runs
- Demonstrated hands-on experience with biochemistry and molecular biology techniques, including protein sample preparation, Western Blotting, and buffer preparation
- Ability to follow and troubleshoot established laboratory protocols independently after training, including identifying and escalating reagent, instrument, or assay issues
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with LC-MS in proteomics workflows
- Familiarity with automated liquid handlers, Thermo Orbitrap instruments, or Sciex triple quadrupole platforms
- Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship
