Biologist

Conduct biological surveys and assessments of natural resources including wildlife, plants, plant communities, and wetlands throughout Big Cypress National Preserve. Apply knowledge of South Florida flora, fauna, and ecological communities to operate standard field equipment such as wildlife camera traps, GPS, and offroad vehicles. Document resource assessments and occurrences of key resources by recording data in databases and preparing summaries or reports in collaboration with NPS staff. Provide general logistical support to preserve staff, including operating offroad vehicles to transport people and equipment, assisting with field work, and supporting educational outreach programs. Work 24 hours per week with a minimum age requirement of 55.
