Job Summary
Ensure accurate labeling and distribution of whole blood and blood components while maintaining compliance with OneBlood standard operating procedures. Perform data entry for production and shipping records, operate and maintain equipment with quality control checks, and manage quarantine of unacceptable products. Manufacture, store, and distribute blood products; maintain adequate inventory supplies and provide customer service to internal and external stakeholders. May operate a OneBlood courier vehicle. Requires proficiency in Microsoft Office, multi-tasking, and physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Full-time Saturday through Tuesday shift from 12:00 PM to 10:30 PM with weekend differentials, followed by 3-4 weeks of training in Charlotte.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Proficient computer skills
- Current and valid driver's license in good standing
- Ability to organize work for timely completion
- Ability to multi-task, while maintaining the safety of blood components
- Ability to follow complex oral and written instructions
- Ability to speak, write, read and understand English
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
- Ability to establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships with customers and those contacted in the course of work
- Basic computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
- Skill in operating office equipment and technology
- Ability to report to work during a disaster, public health emergency or other catastrophic event
- Ability to perform moderately physically demanding work for extended periods of time, involving standing, lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of moderately heavy objects and materials (up to 50 pounds)
- Tasks that require moving objects of significant weight require the assistance of another person and/or use of proper techniques and moving equipment
- Tasks may involve some climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling
- Functions are regularly performed inside and/or outside with potential for exposure to adverse conditions, such as inclement weather, atmospheric elements and pathogenic substances
- Performance of this job could expose the employee to blood-borne pathogens and freezers at below-freezing temperatures (-30F/-35C)
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
- Candidate must be available to attend training in Charlotte Monday through Friday 7:30am to 4:00pm for a period of 3-4 weeks
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds
