Job Summary
Biological Manufacturing Scientist I to support hands-on manufacturing of biologically derived products (cell-based, tissue-based, and protein-based workflows) on the production floor. Responsibilities include aseptic processing, cell culture, tissue handling, and preparation of buffers, reagents, media, and process solutions with rigorous documentation and material traceability. The role requires monitoring operations, troubleshooting issues in real time, and partnering with Quality, R&D, Logistics, and Project Management to support investigations, product release activities, and new product introductions. Participation in technology transfer, continuous improvement initiatives, SOP/batch-record documentation, inventory and ERP transactions, and training/mentoring of team members. Demonstrated SME capability for at least one manufacturing process and strong problem-solving skills are expected, along with familiarity with technology transfer workflows and a focus on Right the First Time manufacturing and quality culture.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in biology, biochemistry, biotechnology, biomedical engineering, chemical engineering, or a related scientific discipline
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in biologics, cell culture, tissue-based, or life science manufacturing operations
- Proven manufacturing floor experience with basic cell culture, primary cell handling, reagent preparation, or formulation work
- Demonstrated ability to own or serve as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for at least one manufacturing process
- Strong technical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with a demonstrated capability to solve technical floor challenges independently
- Familiar with technology transfer workflow
