Job Summary
Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) at BioLife Plasma Services oversees plasma donor screening, eligibility assessment, and post-donation care. Responsibilities include determining donor eligibility, managing donor adverse events, reviewing laboratory test results (including Serological Protein Electrophoresis), and notifying donors of unsuitable results. The role operates under the Center Manager (or Assistant Manager) and Center Physician guidance, aligns with environmental, health and safety guidance, and supports vaccination programs. Requires nursing licensure (LPN/LVN), CPR/AED certification, basic IV therapy training, FDA-approved BioLife training, and at least two years of clinical/hospital experience.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent to including graduate equivalent of a recognized educational nursing program with state requirements
- Currently licensed or certified in the state where responsibilities will be assigned: LPN or LVN
- Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and AED certification
- Fulfill state requirements (in state of licensure) for basic IV therapy
- Satisfactorily complete the FDA approved training requirements for BioLife Medical Support Specialist
- Two years in a clinical or hospital setting
