Job Summary
Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) at BioLife Plasma Services (a Takeda subsidiary) supporting plasma center operations. You will determine donor eligibility, manage donor adverse events, review laboratory results (including SPE), and notify donors of unsuitable results. You’ll follow SOPs under the Center Manager and Center Physician for medical issues, assist with vaccination programs and environmental, health and safety (EHS) guidance, and participate in a rotating weekend schedule. Responsibilities include taking medical histories, obtaining informed consent, evaluating donor safety, and ensuring proper donor care in a fast-paced plasma-donation setting. Prior clinical experience and current LPN/LVN licensure, CPR/AED certification, and FDA training for BioLife Medical Support Specialist are required.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent to including graduate equivalent of a recognized educational nursing program with state requirements
- Currently licensed or certified in the state where responsibilities will be assigned: LPN or LVN
- CPR and AED certification
- Fulfill state requirements (in state of licensure) for basic IV therapy
- Satisfactorily complete the FDA approved training requirements for BioLife Medical Support Specialist
- Two years in a clinical or hospital setting
