Job Summary
Determine donor eligibility by conducting medical history interviews, physical examinations, and blood testing while managing informed consent and confidential self-exclusion. Evaluate donor reactions and adverse events following SOPs, including developing standing orders for medical emergencies and coordinating transport to emergency care. Review laboratory test results and Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE), notifying donors of unsuitable findings or referring cases to the Center Physician and Medical Affairs. Support environmental, health, and safety (EHS) guidance, manage employee incidents, and potentially coordinate pandemic investigations. Assist with Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for staff. BioLife Plasma Services, a subsidiary of Takeda, collects high-quality plasma to create life-changing medicines. This role supports plasma center operations within a commitment to customer service and quality.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent to including graduate equivalent of a recognized educational nursing program with state requirements
- Currently licensed or certified in the state where responsibilities will be assigned: LPN or LVN
- Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and AED certification
- Fulfill state requirements (in state of licensure) for basic IV therapy
- Satisfactorily complete the FDA approved training requirements for BioLife Medical Support Specialist
- Two years in a clinical or hospital setting
