Job Summary
Determine donor eligibility by conducting medical history interviews, physical examinations, and blood testing while managing informed consent and confidential self-exclusion. Evaluate donor reactions and follow standard operating procedures for medical emergencies, including developing standing orders and coordinating transport to emergency care. Review laboratory test results, specifically Serological Protein Electrophoresis, and notify donors of unsuitable findings per guidance from the Center Physician or Medical Affairs. Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees and manage incidents requiring occupational health or ER evaluation. Act as a Pandemic Coordinator when authorized to support investigations of local community threats. Requires current LPN or LVN licensure, CPR/AED certification, and two years of clinical experience. Located in Kansas City, MO, with an hourly wage range of $24.32 - $33.44.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent to including graduate equivalent of a recognized educational nursing program with state requirements
- Currently licensed or certified in the state where responsibilities will be assigned: LPN or LVN
- Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and AED certification
- Fulfill state requirements (in state of licensure) for basic IV therapy
- Satisfactorily complete the FDA approved training requirements for BioLife Medical Support Specialist
- Two years in a clinical or hospital setting
