Job Summary
Determine donor eligibility through informed consent, medical history interviews, and physical examinations while managing donor adverse events and reviewing laboratory test results. Evaluate donor reactions per SOPs and coordinate medical emergency responses including donor transport to emergency care facilities. Support Hepatitis B and seasonal flu vaccination programs for employees and manage employee incidents requiring occupational health or ER evaluation. Refer unacceptable findings to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for guidance on donor safety and eligibility. Work under the guidance of the Center Manager and Center Physician to ensure compliance with plasma collection industry regulations and EHS standards.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent to including graduate equivalent of a recognized educational nursing program with state requirements
- Currently licensed or certified in the state where responsibilities will be assigned: LPN or LVN
- Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and AED certification
- Fulfill state requirements (in state of licensure) for basic IV therapy
- Satisfactorily complete the FDA approved training requirements for BioLife Medical Support Specialist
- Two years in a clinical or hospital setting
