Job Summary
Coordinate project management, data analysis, and documentation for scientific services customers, focusing on whole genome and targeting genotyping applications. Respond to customer inquiries, communicate project status to stakeholders, and troubleshoot data quality issues or system problems to minimize delivery impacts. Adapt to new tools and platforms while maintaining high data quality standards. This role supports the Microarray Research Services Laboratory group, utilizing skills in Linux/Unix, R, and databases to drive research with real-world impact in genomics.
Required Qualifications
- B.S. in Computer Science or Bioinformatics or related field
- 2+ years of experience
- Proficiency with Linux/Unix environment including shell scripting
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future
- Must be able to pass a comprehensive background check and drug screen
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of genomics technology is a plus, especially microarray
- Experience with R is a plus
- Experience with databases (especially PostgreSQL)- writing & optimizing queries, functions, views, triggers is a plus
- Excellent cross-discipline communication and writing skills
- Project management skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Data Visualization, interpretation of results
- Familiarity with GIT and code usage best practices preferred
- Identify gaps and help develop plans to mitigate them
- A strongly pro-active, helpful, 'can-do' attitude
- Takes initiative and takes ownership of assigned tasks
