Job Summary
Senior Bioinformatics Analyst at Vanderbilt University CDS: lead analyses of large-scale genomic and transcriptomic data using advanced bioinformatics tools, develop sophisticated statistical models for genomic data, design and manage research studies, mentor junior team members, and present findings. Responsibilities include coordinating with investigators across Vanderbilt, maintaining pipelines for processing genomic data, and providing leadership for clinical studies involving genomic data. Requires expertise in bulk and single-cell RNA-Seq, DNA-Seq, chromatin binding analyses (CUT&RUN, ChIP-Seq, ATAC-Seq), spatial transcriptomics (e.g., 10X Visium/HD, Nanopore GeoMX), and proficiency with R and Python, along with knowledge of GWAS, rare variant analysis, eQTL analysis, HPC/cloud computing, and common bioinformatics databases and tools. Strong communication, problem-solving, and collaborative leadership skills are essential.
Required Qualifications
- Ph.D. in bioinformatics, computational biology, genetics, statistics, or a related field is required with at least 8 or more years of experience
