Job Summary

Conduct analysis and interpretation of large genomic datasets to identify factors contributing to protective immunity against Mtb. Perform general bioinformatics analysis for omics data projects, including loading, querying databases, and transforming multilevel omic data into user-friendly formats. Develop software pipelines and customize existing applications to meet specific scientific project needs, assisting researchers in analyzing problems and recommending technology-based solutions. Produce high-quality data analysis reports and provide preliminary interpretations for potential publications. Manage resources to implement or modify web-based bioinformatics tools and perform formal evaluations of informatics methods. Collaborate with researchers to complete projects efficiently within the Roy Chowdhury Lab's focus on quantitative genetics and systems biology.

Required Qualifications

  • college or university degree in related field
  • knowledge and skills developed through 5-7 years of work experience in a related job discipline

  • Advanced degree
  • Proficient in developing and implementing empirical genomic protocols
  • Familiar with the analysis of single cell RNA-seq data sets
