Job Summary
Biobank Technician I registers, labels, retrieves, and discards irreplaceable biological and production materials while maintaining required temperatures, following SOPs and regulatory standards (FDA GMP/GTP/GLP/GDP, ISO, CAP). Responsibilities include handling materials to preserve integrity, using the inventory management system with chain-of-custody/audit trails, labeling materials per project specifications, storing at designated temperatures, retrieving and packaging materials for lab services and outbound shipments, performing quality control checks, investigating issues in registration/retrieval, generating location management reports, and supporting facility upkeep. Requires High School Diploma or equivalent; associate/bachelor in Life Sciences preferred; strong attention to detail, teamwork, communication skills, and ability to use Excel. Work locations: Plainfield, IN or Indianapolis, IN on-site. Compensation base pay $21.00/hour, with annualized salary $43,680; full-time, in-person role in Indiana.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent is required
- Associate's/Bachelor's Degree in Life Sciences/Sciences is highly preferred
- Two years’ experience demonstrating teamwork, self-motivation, detail orientation, and professionalism
- Ability to read/understand/interpret basic correspondence, instructions, rules, procedures in English
- Ability to use Microsoft Excel for basic/intermediate functions
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to work with potentially infectious materials and maintain Universal Precautions
