Job Summary
Supervise department personnel by planning, assigning, and directing work while ensuring maximum production efficiency and quality accuracy. Conduct daily checks on job jackets for finishing instructions, counts, and sample delivery, then perform spot checks throughout the run. Operate bindery equipment, assist with setups and troubleshooting, and maintain machinery while monitoring safety regulations and reporting hazards. Train and cross-train employees on procedures, address complaints, and keep staff informed of improved workflows. Maintain a clean, organized workspace and complete necessary paperwork for workers' compensation accidents. Shift runs 6am to 2pm with mandatory overtime. Requires 2+ years of experience and knowledge of MBO, Stahl, Polar, Muller, and Palamides equipment. Bi-lingual English/Spanish and forklift license are plus factors. Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- 3 to 5 years related experience and/or training
- Equivalent combination of education and experience
- Knowledge of MBO roll and sheet folders
- Knowledge of Stahl sheet folders
- Knowledge of Polar cutters
- Knowledge of Muller saddle stitchers
- Knowledge of Palamides banders
- Familiarity with personalized mail of all kinds
- Bi-lingual English/Spanish speaking
- Forklift License
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
- Must successfully pass a comprehensive criminal background investigation
- Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds
- Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds
- Must be able to regularly stand
- Must be able to use hands to finger, handle, or feel
- Must be able to reach with hands and arms
- Must be able to talk or hear
- Must be able to frequently walk and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl

- Must be able to attend monthly Managers and Monthly Safety Meetings
- Must be able to attend Daily Schedule Meetings
- Must be able to implement department goals, strategies, and procedures
- Must be able to check job for quality at the beginning of the run and spot checking throughout the run time
- Must be able to checks and delivers samples to the production office daily
- Must be able to checks job jackets to ensure accuracy on finishing instructions
- Must be able to ensure counts are correct
- Must be able to ensure splits on deliveries and correct destinations
- Must be able to ensure samples were done and look acceptable
- Must be able to schedule work in the most efficient manner
- Must be able to assign employees to their jobs
- Must be able to assist with set-ups and trouble shooting
- Must be able to ensure that production is running at its maximum
- Must be able to operate Bindery equipment when necessary
- Must be able to monitor department safety regulations ensuring that employees are using protective gear and complying with government regulations
- Must be able to report all workers compensation accidents and completes the necessary paperwork for filing
- Must be able to train and cross train personnel on equipment and procedures
- Must be able to keep employees abreast of new and better ways of performing their jobs
- Must be able to maintain machinery
- Must be able to report safety hazards
- Must be able to report any missing or broken parts
- Must be able to keep the area clean and organized
- Must be able to perform other duties as required
- Must be able to carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws
- Must be able to train employees
- Must be able to plan, assign, and direct work
- Must be able to appraise performance
- Must be able to address complaints and resolve problems
