BIM Technician - Electrical

Job Summary

Develop, manage, and maintain complex, discipline-specific BIM models (mechanical, electrical, plumbing, etc.) using Autodesk Revit across all project stages. Translate design intent and detailed mark-ups into coordinated, constructible models and outputs. Lead model production for assigned projects, review content from Junior BIM Technicians for accuracy and standards compliance, and resolve advanced modeling challenges such as routing, spatial constraints, and clashes. Ensure models meet defined Levels of Development (LOD) and Levels of Information Need (LOIN) at milestones, manage parametric data and metadata, enforce naming conventions and BEP requirements, and coordinate across architectural, structural, and building services models. Utilize Navisworks for clash detection and coordination workflows, perform advanced QA/QC checks, manage model submissions in a Common Data Environment, and mentor and onboard junior staff while contributing to BIM standards and procedures.

Required Qualifications

  • Advanced proficiency in Autodesk Revit and discipline-specific BIM modelling workflows
  • Strong understanding of building systems, installation practices, and interdisciplinary coordination
  • Ability to independently manage complex models and resolve advanced coordination issues
  • Working knowledge of ISO 19650 principles, BIM Execution Plans, and Common Data Environments
  • Demonstrated experience using coordination and review tools such as Navisworks
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across disciplines
  • Strong attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and accountability for model quality

Desired Qualifications

  • Advanced BIM modelling proficiency using Autodesk Revit
  • Experience leading model production for complex projects
  • Proficiency with Navisworks for clash detection and coordination
  • Strong understanding of building systems (MEP) and interdisciplinary coordination
  • Familiarity with ISO 19650, BIM Execution Plans, and Common Data Environments
  • Ability to mentor junior staff and provide technical guidance
  • Attention to detail with QA/QC of models and drawings
  • Experience managing BIM data in a CDE and ensuring data integrity
