Job Summary
BIM Engineer responsible for creating and implementing structural models primarily in Revit, with reinforcement modelling and detailing, preparing construction drawings, visual presentations, and reporting. You will coordinate federated 3D/4D/5D BIM models with disciplines (road, rail, architecture, civil, structures, MEP) across COWI offices in Denmark, Sweden, Norway and the UK, develop design solutions across concept to detailed design, and lead BIM kick-off and coordination meetings. The role involves exporting workflows to analysis/visualization tools (Navisworks) and coordinating with BIM technicians to resolve issues, using Navisworks and Solibri for coordination, and leveraging API knowledge or plugins as an advantage. A master’s or bachelor’s degree in structural/civil engineering or architecture with at least 2 years of relevant experience is required, along with proficiency in TEKLA and AutoCAD; experience with REVIT, MicroStation/InRoads, Civil3D, and scripting tools is a plus. English communication and willingness to travel short business trips abroad are required. The position is hybrid with offices in the Nordic region, the UK, North America, and India, and involves collaboration with colleagues across multiple countries.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s or bachelor’s Degree in structural engineering / civil engineering / architecture with at least 2 years of relevant experience
- Proficiency in TEKLA and AutoCAD with the ability to create structural models in BIM software (must-have)
- experience with REVIT, MicroStation/InRoads, Civil3D, and scripting tools like Dynamo and Grasshopper is an advantage
- The ability to collaborate effectively with lead structural designers and team members to produce construction drawings, including reinforcement and detailing
- A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience and can support engineering calculations and CAD tasks during peak periods
- English communication skills are required
- Willingness to undertake short business trips abroad (up to two weeks per year)
