Billing Specialist

Job Summary
Generate and process customer invoices accurately and in a timely manner, reviewing contracts and purchase orders to ensure billing precision. Verify pricing and payment terms before issuance, then research and resolve billing discrepancies, inquiries, and disputes. Monitor outstanding invoices, coordinate collections with Accounts Receivable, apply payments, and reconcile records while maintaining accurate customer files. Process adjustments, credit memos, and refunds, prepare recurring invoices, and assist with month-end closing and reporting. Collaborate with Sales, Customer Service, Operations, and Accounting to resolve issues and analyze trends for process improvements. Ensure compliance with policies and confidentiality standards.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field

- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field
- 2+ years of billing, accounts receivable, or accounting experience
- Strong understanding of billing procedures and general accounting principles
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience with ERP or accounting software (such as NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or QuickBooks)
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
