Job Summary
Billing Specialist responsible for processing client billing and supporting revenue cycle operations to ensure accurate and timely reimbursement for behavioral health and related services, with a primary focus on Medicaid billing and potential Medicare/private-payer claims. Key duties include creating Claim EDI for payers, self-pay claim processing, payment posting, claim denial investigations, Carelogic Billing/AR configuration, and interacting with payment portals. Requires knowledge of Ohio Medicaid billing, Carelogic software, Ohio MCO requirements, and strong customer service, communication skills, and collaboration with ISBH staff and external customers. Three years of relevant billing experience and an educational background including a high school diploma or GED are required, with a bachelor’s degree preferred.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Three years of experience in Ohio behavioral health Medicaid billing
- Three years of experience using an electronic health record system to process claims (Carelogic preferred)
- Ability to communicate effectively (verbal/written)
- Operates in an Internet-based office environment
- Demonstrates cultural awareness
