Job Summary
Billing Specialist responsible for processing client billing and supporting revenue cycle operations with a focus on Medicaid billing for behavioral health services, including claim submissions, denial investigations, payment posting, EDI for various payers, and collaboration with ISBH staff and external customers. Requires Knowledge of Ohio Behavioral Health Payment Environment and Carelogic Billing/AR functionality; duties include claim submission, denial remediation, payer interactions, and participating in special projects. Strong customer service mindset and ability to work within Medicaid billing requirements and Ohio MCOs; role emphasizes accuracy, timeliness, and cross-functional coordination.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Three years of experience in Ohio behavioral health Medicaid billing
- Three years of experience with an electronic health record system to process claims (Carelogic preferred)
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to operate in an Internet-based, automated office environment
