Billing Specialist II

Billing Specialist II responsible for the claim balance of specifically assigned accounts, obtaining payor authorizations, ensuring proper claim and modifier coding, communicating with Fora clinical staff and insurance companies to identify and solve issues, resubmitting and adjudicating denied and rejected claims, and applying payments as needed within the electronic health record system and web-based clearinghouse. Reports to Contracts and Billing Supervisor. Essential functions include processing timely authorizations, ensuring timely and accurate claims with correct data points, identifying issues and implementing corrective actions, managing AR aging, identifying denials and resubmitting claims, applying payments, developing client statements, completing billing audits, and participating in ad-hoc billing/denials projects. Requirements also include 3+ years of medical billing experience, coding certification, proficiency with EHR systems and billing clearinghouses, and strong Excel and communication skills. Working conditions note potential for remote work after 90 days with supervisor approval.
