Job Summary

The Billing Specialist is responsible for the full-cycle billing of ambulance claims, including invoicing, claim submission, insurance verifications, patient registration, coding, charge entry, payment posting, A/R follow-up, denial management, reporting, and aging. Candidates should possess strong typing skills, able to type an average of 65-70 WPM, and have experience in high-volume claims billing data entry. This role requires exceptional literacy and numeracy skills, strong attention to detail, and proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel. Compliance with HIPAA and company policies is essential.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Two years of experience in a high-volume data entry position
  • Typing certificate – 65 WPM
  • Work authorization or employment eligibility
  • Valid California Driver’s License or Identification Card

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience in high-volume data entry related to claims billing
  • Strong computer skills
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to use shortcut-keys in multiple computer operating systems
  • Good investigation and critical thinking skills

Additional Requirements

  • Must be able to sit for 4-10 hours a day
  • Must be able to constantly use your hands for up to 8 hours a day
