Job Summary
Billing Specialist responsible for issuing claims and statements, maintaining AR records, monitoring AR balances, and ensuring accurate monthly billing for long-term care residents. Collaborates with staff across departments, supports census and compliance reporting, performs daily census updates and admission/discharge profile reporting, maintains confidentiality of PHI, and explains billing processes to residents and families. Requires strong communication, organizational skills, and proficiency with billing systems.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma required
- Accounting education and/or experience preferred
- Third-party billing and long-term care billing experience preferred
- Proficient computer skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong time-management and organizational skills
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to explain billing processes clearly
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of resident and company information
