Billing Specialist (62826)

Job Summary

Manage complex medical accounts receivable functions including insurance verification, claim submission, collection, posting, and managing account payments. Post daily charges, audit and generate clean claims, and process insurance and patient payments accurately. Investigate and resolve insurance denials by correcting and resubmitting claims to third-party payers while addressing patient billing questions and complaints. Coordinate with Patient Access Services to ensure accurate patient information and maintain strict HIPAA confidentiality. Reconcile cash and batches daily, create payment plans, and assist with appeals as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • Knowledge of medical terminology and current CPT AND/OR CDT coding practices
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, EMR software's and other online programs
  • general business equipment
  • Basic mathematic skills
  • Ability to work well with others
  • Certification in Medical Billing or Coding

Desired Qualifications

  • Spanish proficiency
