Job Summary
Conduct advanced billing and financial clearance functions including claims management, complex denial resolution, insurance authorizations, precertifications, and patient cost estimates. Perform daily tasks in assigned work queues, review reports to identify revenue opportunities and unpaid claims, and appeal complex denials through review of payer policies, coding, and medical records. Address payer, provider credentialing, and coding issues with management while utilizing CBO Pathways to resolve unpaid or incorrectly paid claims. Coordinate functions across Accounts Receivable, Denials, Customer Service, and Authorizations as assigned, assisting staff with escalated issues and participating in training and process improvement efforts.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Experience in medical billing, accounts receivable, insurance, or related duties
- Knowledge of CPT and ICD10
- medical billing software
- English usage, grammar and spelling
- basic math
- 3 years experience in a similar role
- Light, accurate keyboarding skills
- Prefer that candidates type 35 words per minute (wpm) or greater on the typing assessment that will be administered prior to onboarding
- Strong verbal and written communication skills

- Professional demeanor and positive attitude
- Time management skills
- Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with peers, other staff and leadership
