Job Summary
Review, process, and maintain accurate financial accounts for Midland Community Healthcare Services patients in compliance with medical and regulatory requirements. Enter, review, and process patient service fee tickets, insurance payments, and pharmaceutical reports into the billing or practice management system. Flag past due accounts, generate collection reports, and submit claims for all payers following proper protocol. Assist patients with account information, payment history, and arrangements while verifying patient entitlements. Maintain billing office supplies and send patient correspondence through proper procedure. Participate in cross-training opportunities within the finance department. Perform other duties as assigned by the Billing Manager.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or G.E.D.
- No felony results on a criminal background screening
- Drug Screen Test with a negative result
- Ability to lift a minimum of 25 lbs, or more, independently as necessary
- Vision abilities to read and verify patient information, to read information on medical records, and to read information on computer systems
- Ability to pull, push, lift, and manipulate equipment and files
- Ability to move freely about the front office and medical record areas in order to perform the job duties
Desired Qualifications
- 1-3 years of customer service experience
- 1-3 years of medical billing office experience
- Certified Professional Coder Certification
