Job Summary
Billing Associate at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) supporting the PUB Billing Team with claim submissions to insurance payers for Hospital, Physician Practice, or Home Care services. Primary duties include submitting timely/accurate claims using electronic/clearinghouse billing software, resolving claim edits, ensuring payer acceptance, reviewing CPT/ICD-10/HCPCS data, payer requirements, and collaborating with CHOP departments to optimize the revenue cycle. Role requires HIPAA compliance, strong Excel and data-management skills, ability to work cross-functionally, training new staff, and maintaining CHOP standards of integrity and confidentiality. In-person at the Cira Center in Philadelphia with weekly in-office presence and standard hours, plus flexibility to start earlier to support operational needs.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma / GED - Required
- At least one (1) year experience in billing, payment posting, operations, or related role - Required
- HIPAA compliance standards (Required proficiency)

- Knowledge of third-party reimbursement and physician/hospital billing. (Preferred proficiency)
- Experience in using commonly used electronic health records and healthcare revenue cycle financial management systems. (Preferred proficiency)
