Job Summary
Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits prior to scheduled appointments, confirming coverage and identifying patient financial responsibility such as copays or deductibles. Enter and update insurance information accurately in the electronic medical record, review upcoming schedules to identify patients requiring verification, and contact insurance companies through payer portals or by phone when needed. Assist with basic billing tasks, review accounts for missing information, organize billing documents, and respond to internal questions regarding insurance or billing details. Maintain accurate documentation of all activities while following HIPAA guidelines to protect patient confidentiality. This role supports the Revenue Cycle Department with administrative tasks to ensure accurate billing and timely reimbursement.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to learn new computer systems and processes
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and follow HIPAA requirements
- Full time position working hybrid style - 40 hours per week Monday through Friday from 9AM to 5PM
- Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States

Desired Qualifications
- Experience working in a medical office or healthcare setting
- Familiarity with health insurance or medical billing
- Experience using an electronic medical record (EMR) system
