Job Summary
Legal Billing Compliance Analyst at a large global law firm. Responsible for reviewing Outside Counsel Guidelines to ensure client billing compliance, including invoice review, timekeeping training for attorneys and staff, budgeting support, and analysis of client economics. Communicates with partners, clients, and staff to provide recommendations and resolve billing issues; coordinates with internal staff, vendor staff, and client personnel; prepares reports and analyses; trains timekeepers on guidelines, narrative etiquette, expense allowances, and proper task and activity code usage; strives to minimize the billing and collections cycle while maintaining adherence to client expectations.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- 3-5 years of law firm e-billing experience
- Proficient with various e-billing protocols and vendors
- Prior experience with third party e-billing software preferred
- Familiar with best practices for billing/collection in the legal industry
- Effective communication with all levels of personnel
- Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure
- Excellent written and verbal communications, organizational skills, and ability to multi-task and prioritize
