Job Summary
Legal Billing Compliance Analyst responsible for reviewing Outside Counsel Guidelines to ensure billing aligns with client expectations. Duties include invoice review, timekeeping training for attorneys and staff, assisting in budget preparation, and providing analyses of client economics. Requires effective communication with partners, clients, and staff to advise on billing matters; familiarity with legal terms and processes to manage client billing; coordinates with internal and vendor staff to ensure smooth billing operations; supports adherence to deadlines and optimal billing practices.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred; Accounting or Business major highly desirable
- 3-5 years of law firm e-billing experience
- Proficient with various e-billing protocols and vendors; prior experience with third-party e-billing software preferred
- Familiarity with best practices for billing/collection in the legal industry
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to manage relationships with partners, clients, and staff
- Strong attention to detail; ability to work under pressure; organizational and multitasking abilities
- Ability to train timekeepers on guidelines, narrative etiquette, expenses, and code usage
- Ability to prepare reports and analyses; liaison between clients, partners, and staff
