Job Summary
Billing Analyst responsibilities include reviewing Outside Counsel Guidelines to ensure compliant billing, training timekeepers on narrative etiquette and code usage, coordinating best-practice procedures for smooth billing, preparing reports and analyses, monitoring billing deadlines to minimize cycle times, and acting as a liaison between clients, partners, and staff. The role requires knowledge of legal billing processes, strong written and verbal communication, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced law-firm environment.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred; Accounting or Business major desirable
- 3-5 years of law firm e-billing experience
- Proficient with e-billing protocols and third-party e-billing software
- Familiar with billing/collection best practices in the legal industry
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and work under pressure
- Strong customer service mindset and team-oriented attitude
- Willingness to work overtime as needed (evenings and weekends)
