Job Summary
Bill all insurance companies, workers' compensation carriers, and HMO/PPO carriers while auditing patient accounts to ensure procedures and charges are coded accurately. Correct billing errors, identify stop loss claims, implants, and missing codes, and maintain proficiency in medical terminology. Follow up on insurance balances to ensure timely payment, communicate clearly with clients and staff, and obtain updated demographic information for compliance. Write effective appeals to insurance companies, input follow-up notes, and retrieve collection and patient information using computer systems. Maintain productivity standards and reports.
Required Qualifications
- Knowledge of multiple insurance billing requirements
- 1-2 years of billing experience
- Knowledge of CPT, HCPCS, and Revenue Code structures
- High School Graduate or GED Equivalent
