Bilingual Youth Transportation Specialist

Job Summary

Coordinate transportation and physically escort children who have fled their country of origin to reunification appointments, managing both scheduled and emergency travel. Organize destinations, supervise youth during transit, and track all doctor and group outing schedules while maintaining daily rosters and vehicle logs. Ensure vehicle cleanliness, fuel, and security, and provide safety training to new hires. Travel out of state up to 40%-50% for reunification efforts, requiring flexibility and physical agility for prolonged standing, walking, and lifting up to 50 pounds. Complete mandatory CPI and CPR training and report unusual events to the Management Team. Work within the National Youth Advocate Program's mission to support youth and families.

Required Qualifications

  • Must be able to travel out of state up to 40%-50% for reunification efforts.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Experience working with at-risk youth.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish fluency is required.
  • Excellent time management and organization skills.
  • Excellent written and oral skills.
  • Applicants are required to pass an agility and strength evaluation.
  • Must have a valid driver's license, reliable transportation, automotive insurance, and a good driving record.
  • Proficient use of desktop and laptop computers, smartphones and tablets, printers, fax machines, and photocopiers, as well as software including word processing, spreadsheet, and database programs.
  • Minimum automobile insurance coverage of $100,000/300,000 bodily liability coverage.
  • 21 years of age, valid state driver's license, reliable personal vehicle, and a good driving record.
  • Must be able to participate in physical interventions with youth when necessary.
  • Must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds.
  • Will be required to complete Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) and CPR training.
  • Schedule will vary depending on transport need; flexibility is needed.
  • Must be able to effectively work with and be respectful and sensitive to persons from various cultures, socioeconomic, ethnic, gender, gender identity, sexual identity, disability, religious, and racial backgrounds.
