Job Summary
Direct and plan Souto Foods transportation activities by formulating strategies aligned with corporate metrics and overseeing daily driver scheduling for 75 to 100 weekly routes. Ensure compliance with DOT, federal, and state standards while managing budgets, forecasting five-year plans, and maintaining proper staffing levels for 20 to 30 drivers. Coordinate efficient delivery schedules with the routing department to maximize load capacity and reduce operating expenses, while supervising fleet safety, driving video reviews, and enforcing the Food Safety Modernization Act. Serve as a liaison between customers, vendors, and internal leadership to resolve delivery issues and promote a positive, union-free department culture.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in business or supply chain management
- 8-10 years' experience in transportation operations management
- Excellent communication, organizational, and PC skills
- CDL's
- Strong verbal and written communication, leadership, interpersonal, critical thinking, and organizational skills
- Expert user level of ELD softwares
Desired Qualifications
- Master's degree
- Bi-lingual (Spanish)
- Freight and backhaul experience
- Prior use of drop yard (hub and spoke) concepts
- 3-5 years of warehouse experience
