Job Summary
As a Consulting Clinician for Wider Care+, conduct initial telehealth assessments (15-20 min) to serve as the clinical gateway for members newly enrolled in the pilot; synthesize medical and social histories, identify clinical priorities/risks, create concise clinical plans and handoffs for the care team, document findings in the EMR, and advise on escalation pathways and program workflows. Role emphasizes clinical autonomy in assessments and judgment, building rapid rapport with members and caregivers, and contributing to a pilot that shapes how whole-person care is delivered at scale. Requires MD/DO with PA license, board eligibility/certification in primary care, experience with Medicare/Medicaid populations, strong telehealth skills, and ability to operate in a startup-like environment. Remote, fully virtual scheduling with part-time, flexible hours; compensation is hourly/visit-based as an independent contractor; potential to expand with Wider Care+.
Required Qualifications
- MD or DO with active, unrestricted Pennsylvania license
- Board-certified or board-eligible in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Geriatrics, or related primary care specialty preferred
- Substantial experience with Medicare/Medicaid populations, or complex chronic disease management
- Skilled at telehealth assessment and building rapport virtually
- Strong clinical judgment, comfort with complexity and ambiguity, and interest in care coordination
- Comfortable working in an iterative, startup-like pilot environment
- Fully virtual visits and EMR documentation
- Pilot role with opportunity to expand as Wider Care+ scales
