Job Summary

Bilingual Spanish Teacher responsible for designing and delivering bilingual instruction to students in a charter-school environment in New Jersey. Responsibilities include planning and delivering instruction, translating verbally and in writing for teachers, administrators, students, and parents, preparing instructional materials, upholding confidentiality, and supporting compliance with New Jersey standards (NJSLS) and the WIDA ELD standards. Must possess strong bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish, hold appropriate NJDOE certification, and engage in professional duties such as PLCs and school events. Reports to the School Director; ten-month employment term; duties include supervision of students and collaboration with staff and families.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university is required/Masters preferred
  • New Jersey Department of Education Certification CE, CEAS, Provisional, or Standard: Elementary School Teacher, K-6, or specific Subject Area endorsement AND a Teacher of Bilingual/Bicultural Education Endorsement
  • Demonstrate full fluency and bilingualism in both English and Spanish, including oral and written mastery
  • Understand the requirement to maintain confidentiality concerning charter school-related matters
  • Prior to employment, the following must be addressed:
  • Required to complete a criminal history background check to prove that the individual has not been convicted of a crime or a disorderly person's offense in accordance with N.J.S.A 18A:6-7.1
  • Provide evidence that health is adequate to fulfill the job functions and responsibilities with reasonable accommodation pursuant to 42 U.S.C. 12101 and in accordance with N.J.A.C. 6A:32-6.2
  • Pass the state required Mantoux Intradermal Tuberculin Test as required by N.J.A.C. 6A:32-6.3
  • A valid driver's license is preferred
