Job Summary
The Bilingual Senior Early Childhood Specialist position focuses on enhancing early learning programs through coaching teachers and implementing research-based curricula. The role involves observing key indicators in classroom settings, developing data-driven implementation plans, and fostering relationships within the educational community. Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in relevant fields, have at least 3 years of early childhood experience, and be fluent in English and Spanish. The position requires written and verbal communication proficiency, along with the ability to manage multiple projects and adapt to flexibility in scheduling.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of experience working in an early childhood setting
- Conversational and written fluency in English/Spanish
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university in early childhood education, child development, special education, child psychology, educational psychology, elementary education, or family consumer science, or a degree with at least 18 credit hours in early childhood education, child development, special education, or a related field and at least 12 credit hours in child development
- Ability to work collaboratively with adults in teaching/learning situations
- Knowledge of best practices in early childhood education
- Ability to work with minimal supervision – self-motivated & confident
- Minimum intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
- Intermediate proficiency with email/communications/scheduling software (Outlook).
Desired Qualifications
- Experience coaching adults in teaching/learning situations
- Knowledge of Texas Minimum Standards, NAEYC Professional Development Standards, Texas Core Competencies, and Early Learning Guidelines
- Ability to work well with people from all backgrounds with varying degrees of experience
- Demonstrated experience with data capture using a database and tablets
- Experience utilizing virtual platforms such as ZOOM and TEAMS.
Additional Requirements
- Must have reliable, personal transportation because this position requires driving to different locations throughout the greater Houston area
- A valid Texas Driver’s License, and current vehicle insurance coverage
