Job Summary
Plan and deliver engaging instruction in Social Studies or Science for grades 6–12, adhering to Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills standards and district curriculum expectations. Develop lesson plans, assignments, and instructional activities that encourage participation, adapting strategies to address individual learning styles, academic levels, and language needs. Establish clear classroom expectations, measure student understanding through assessments, and provide constructive feedback while partnering with administrators, educators, and families to promote success. Communicate effectively in both English and Spanish to support bilingual students. Maintain complete instructional documentation and attend professional learning sessions. Full-time assignment for the 2026–2027 academic year at a San Antonio campus.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
- Current Texas teaching certification in Grades 6–12 Social Studies or Grades 6–12 Science
- Professional fluency in both English and Spanish
- Effective classroom leadership, communication, and organizational abilities
- Capacity to collaborate successfully with teachers, administrators, families, and support teams
- Strong commitment to student learning, achievement, and personal development
- Previous experience teaching in a school-based setting is preferred
