Job Summary
Bilingual Member Service Advocate role serving SCAN members remotely. Responsibilities include acting as an advocate and primary contact for questions and concerns about benefits, eligibility, referrals, claims and other plan-related services; educating members, families, providers and caregivers about benefits and plan options; providing timely, accurate follow-up to resolve issues; ensuring member satisfaction and adherence to policies, HIPAA requirements, and regulatory guidelines; supporting member retention through proactive communication and collaboration with internal teams. Must effectively communicate in one of the target languages (Mandarin, Cantonese, Korean or Vietnamese) and maintain a professional demeanor while handling a high volume of inquiries via phone and email. Optional duties include participating in member calling projects and contributing to continuous improvement in call-center operations according to SCAN policies and service principles.
Required Qualifications
- 1-2 years call center or related customer service experience
- 1-2 years of prior experience with Medicare benefits (preferred)
- Experience in healthcare, insurance or pharmacy industry highly desirable
- Data entry and general computer skills (word processing, e-mail)
- Effective communication (oral and written) skills
- Professional/pleasant telephone manner
- Ability to handle large call volume while maintaining quality service
- Demonstrated efficiency in high-volume environment
