Job Summary
Provide one-on-one care to youth and young adults when primary caregivers are unavailable, ensuring their safety and well-being while delivering simple emotional and psychological support. Assist with daily living activities including personal care, hygiene, ambulation, cooking, cleaning, laundry, and running errands. Prepare and maintain records of client progress, reporting changes to supervisors, and actively promote mental alertness through age-appropriate activities. Instruct clients on household cleanliness, utilities, nutrition, and infant care, while participating in case reviews and in-service training as required. Adhere to all agency policies and procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Must possess a strong service orientation, including active listening, critical thinking skills, and close monitoring of clients.
- Minimum of three references required
- Must have an automobile and a valid driver's license
- Must have proof of car insurance
- Pass a criminal background check including fingerprinting
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times
