Job Summary
Receive incoming phone calls from patients, nursing staff, and physicians to handle complete appointment scheduling, pre-registration, insurance verification, and pre-authorization. Process requests accurately while maintaining bilingual English/Spanish communication and demonstrating proficiency with insurance portals and appointment workflows. Requires one year of healthcare and one year of customer service experience, including prior front desk or call center work. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States, possess above-average verbal and written communication skills, and meet typing requirements of 30 WPM. Schedule includes Monday through Friday, 8AM to 5PM.
Required Qualifications
- Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States
- High School Diploma or equivalency
- 1 year healthcare experience
- 1 year customer service experience
- Prior experience in a healthcare front desk or call center setting
- Insurance training and demonstrated experience using insurance portals for eligibility verification and authorization
- Experience with appointment scheduling and patient registration workflows
- Bilingual English/Spanish
- 30 WPM
- Proficient with computers and related applications
- Above Average Verbal and Written communication
- Medical Terminology
- MS Word
- MS Excel
- Must be able to stand, sit, and/or walk for extended periods
- Must be able to perform repetitive tasks
- Must be able to work with challenging patients and clients
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds
Desired Qualifications
- Additional experience in a medical office, healthcare call center, patient access role, or in medical billing, coding, or authorization coordination
