Job Summary
Guide patients through registration, enrollment, and appointment scheduling while assisting with insurance applications, renewals, and eligibility verification. Conduct financial screenings to help patients qualify for discounted healthcare services and educate them on available programs and community resources. Remove barriers to care by coordinating transportation, interpretation services, and referrals, then maintain accurate patient documentation within the electronic medical record. Partner with clinical and administrative teams to improve patient engagement, participate in community outreach events, and track activities to support organizational quality initiatives. Required Qualifications
- Bilingual in English and Spanish
- High School Diploma or GED
- 1-2 years of experience in a healthcare setting
- Reliable transportation for occasional community outreach activities
Desired Qualifications
- FQHC experience
- Experience working with an Electronic Health Record (NextGen)
- Experience verifying insurance or working with Medi-Cal, Medicare, or Covered California
- Comfort using Microsoft Office and healthcare software systems
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with a team
