Job Summary
Bilingual Pashto/Dari Linguist for government-focused language services role in Fairfax, VA. Responsibilities include translating reports/texts containing both factual and abstract language, interpreting (consecutive and occasional simultaneous), transcription, and producing written translations and briefings. Requires strong English proficiency, American-English communication skills, and computer/internet research capabilities. Must be a US citizen with TS/SCI clearance and polygraph, ILR 3+ in the target language, at least five years of translation/interpretation experience, and willingness to travel up to 25% (Outside Continental US). Hybrid work arrangement with up to 25% travel; salary range $86,600 to $181,800 annually.
Required Qualifications
- US Citizenship
- Active TS/SCI Clearance with adjudicated Polygraph
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Minimum five (5) years’ professional translation, transcription, translation, and/or interpretation
- ILR Level 3 or higher in target language translation test
- Consecutive and/or simultaneous interpretation abilities
- Proficiency in MS Office and internet research
- Ability to deploy with active passport
- Good understanding of geopolitical, regional, ethnic, and cultural components of target language geographical areas
