Job Summary
Maintain a caseload of 12 to 24 clients by delivering parenting education in group, small group, and individual settings while substituting for the Lead Parent Coordinator to facilitate sessions and developmental screenings. Train direct care staff and new hires on parenting skills to reinforce education in daily interactions, and create, measure, and update parenting goals and objectives for resident Plans of Service. Document all parenting services and interventions timely, serve as the point person for collecting and entering performance metrics such as AAPI-2 scores and class attendance into the internal database, and coordinate with external agencies to provide relevant programs for residents. Schedule guest speakers on parenting topics and maintain continuous communication with staff regarding resident progress. Work Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. with 10% local and 10% overnight travel, requiring fluency in English and Spanish.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Reliable transportation
- Valid driver license
- Valid vehicle insurance
- Ability to show proof of immunity to vaccine-preventable diseases transmitted by the respiratory route if working directly with unaccompanied children
- Varicella: two doses of varicella vaccine (at least 4 weeks apart) OR born in the United States before 1980 with a reported history of chickenpox (verified by an adult present at the time of illness) OR titers indicating varicella immunity OR documentation from healthcare provider verifying previous infection
- MMR: two doses of MMR vaccine (at least 4 weeks apart) OR titers indicating immunity to all three diseases
- DTaP or Tdap: Complete primary vaccination series. If primary vaccination series completed in childhood, one TdaP dose in adulthood
- Influenza: one dose annually during flu season
- Working knowledge of TDFPS Minimum Standards, and Office of Refugee Resettlement- Division of Unaccompanied Children's Services National Care Standards
- Therapeutic sensitivity to the service population cultural and socio-economic characteristics
- Experience with computer software and MS Office (i.e. MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and OneDrive)

- Bilingual: Fluent in English/Spanish with regards to reading, writing, speaking, and comprehension of the spoken language
- 10% local and 10% overnight travel
- Be physically, mentally, and emotionally capable of performing assigned tasks and have the skills necessary to perform essential duties and responsibilities
- Submit to a state and federal background check, Child abuse and neglect registry check, and Tuberculosis screening
- Attendance and successful completion of a 10-day New Employee Orientation is mandated for the position
Desired Qualifications
- Associate or Bachelor's degree preferred
- Preferred 2 years' experience teaching parenting skills to adolescent mothers preferred
- Minimum of 1-year employment experience teaching parenting skills to adolescent mothers preferred
